Kenston golfers finish a stellar season

The Kenston Forest Golf Team just wrapped up an excellent season this month, putting together a VCC Conference record of 31-3 and 32-4 overall. The Kavs then won the Conference Championship, contested at the Cardinal Course at Ft. Gregg-Adams. The match team was composed of Will Johnson of Blackstone, Ben Hite of Kenbridge, Kelsey Carter of South Hill, MK Hite of Kenbridge, Ashton Lafoon of Crewe, and Matthew Mann of Amelia. Will Johnson and Ben Hite were awarded All-Conference (VCC) Honors; Ben Hite additionally won the All Academic Award. Keith Green and Dr. Allen were coaches of the year.

Kenston, moreover, qualified for the State Championship played at Williamsburg National on the Yorktown Course in Williamsburg. The Kavaliers placed fourth, scoring better than their yearly average. Will Johnson was named to the All-State Golf Team for the third year in a row. Kenston has now won eight of the last ten golf championships awarded by the VCC. Only losing one senior, the Kavs have high hopes of another Conference victory in 2025 as well making a run at the state title.
