The Lunenburg Middle School Blue Devils got their season started last week with a blowout win over Cumberland.

Head coach Al McCrimmon was all smiles following the opening victory.

He stated, “This was an outstanding effort by the entire team.”

He said the team played great defense and that also helped the offense get rolling.

Leading the way for Lunenburg in the win was Khalil Wood, who had a great day running the ball and scored three Lunenburg touchdowns.

The touchdowns and scoring chances would be plentiful in this game as Moewuante Morrison scored two extra-point conversions, T’Zion Wilkerson scored one touchdown and one extra-point conversion.

Ben Anthony then scored a touchdown run as well from the quarterback spot.

On top of the offensive scores, Lunenburg got a special teams touchdown when Trent Williams took a Cumberland kick in for a touchdown.
