The search continues for a Victoria woman who has been missing since Saturday, Jan. 2.
Even as late as Thursday, Jan. 7, 40 people and as many as 10 dogs were searching for Kathleen Williams, 53, of 10th Street, Victoria Police Chief Keith Phillips said.
The State Police, Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Department, Kenbridge and Victoria police departments, and members of the state’s department of game and inland fisheries have joined locals in the search, Phillips said.
Williams walked out of her house between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. while her husband was gone to the grocery store, Phillips said. When he left, she appeared to be sleep, Phillips said. She left without even taking her purse, he said.
“When he got back, she was gone,” Phillips said.
There is no sign of foul play and she never said anything about hurting herself, Phillips said.
“I can’t assume she’s done anything, really,” Phillips said. “We’re (just) looking for her.”
