On Jan. 6, the DECA Chapter at Central High School competed in the DECA District IV Leadership Conference held at River Ridge Mall In Lynchburg. The following students were winners in the competition: Jessica Kimball competed in the principles of marketing event and placed second in the roleplay, third in the test and third in the overall event; Samantha Matthews competed in the principles of marketing event and placed third in the test; Tiona Brown competed in the hospitality event and placed third in roleplay and third place in the overall event; Jamori Pegram competed in the principles of business & marketing event and placed third in roleplay; Christy Crawley competed in the food marketing event and placed third in the test, second in roleplay and placed third overall in the event; Tawanna Jennings competed in the quick service restaurant marketing event and placed third in the test, third in roleplay number 1, first place in roleplay number 2 and placed third overall in the event; Ben Atkins competed in the principles of business & marketing event and placed second in roleplay, first in the test and first overall in the event. Atkins also qualified to represent DECA District IV at the DECA State Leadership Conference to be held March 4-6 in Virginia Beach in the principles of business and marketing event.
