The Central Alumni Scholarship Foundation 5K was held Saturday, and three overall winners in both the male and female categories ran home as a winner.

Ben Atkins won in the male category with a time of 19:14, Richard Ferguson followed in second with a time of 20:05 and Patrick Powers finished third with a time of 20:27.

In the female category, Patricia Mahaney finished first with a time of 30:37, Nancy Vogt place second (36:27) and Susan Parrish finished third (38:14).

“We had an enthusiastic crowd and a gorgeous day for the 5K,” said event coordinator Al Vaughan. “It is great to see the energy around doing this. We have a good team effort going on, and we have awarded a little over $22,000 in scholarships here s
