Ashley Pollard, DDS, recently joined Southern Dominion Health System Inc.’s (SDHS) Family Dentistry in Victoria. Pollard is originally from Chesapeake.

Pollard is a board- certified dentist who received her undergraduate degree from Longwood University. She attended Howard University College of Dentistry and did her residency at Lutheran Medical Center in northern and central Arizona.

“SDHS Inc. is delighted to have Dr. Pollard and the experience she brings to provide a welcome and quality environment to our family dentistry office,” officials said in a press release.

SDHS operates four federally qualified health centers in three central Piedmont counties of Virginia. The medical centers, located in Victoria, Amelia, Emporia and Dinwiddie, serve the primary care needs of all patients in the corporation’s service area and saw more than 39,000 patient visits during 2015.

The corporation first established as the Lunenburg Medical Center in 1984 and has grown to the five corporate sites serving the primary care needs of the patients in those communities.
