The William Taylor Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met at Brian’s Restaurant in South Hill recently for its annual Christmas luncheon. Frank Malone, middle, South Hill Chamber of Commerce’s president, presented the program. He was welcomed by Chapter Regent Merny Erby, left, of Victoria and by the hostesses, Sylvia White and her mother Ann Gauchat, right, of South Hill. Malone shared information about South Hill’s history and expansion, as well as current and future developments, including the construction of a new hospital facility that should be completed this year. Members of the William Taylor Chapter reside primarily in Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg counties. We commend the group and its leadership for keeping our area’s history alive.
