The driver of a vehicle that allegedly ran into a curb striking a business on Victoria’s Main Street was charged with hit and run on Friday.

Police say Cody A. Overton, 22, of Victoria, is charged with hit and run in connection with the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police.

A trooper with Virginia State Police Trooper T.W. Reeves Jr. responded to the incident shortly after 8 p.m., Susan Rowland, public relations coordinator with Virginia State Police, said in a press release.

Rowland said Rowland, driving a 1993 Mercury Cougar, was traveling east on Main Street near 8th Street when the vehicle ran off of the road to the right.

The vehicle struck a curb and reportedly hit DMJ Trading, a thrift store, then continued driving east on Main Street.

No injuries resulted from the incident, Rowland said.
