Lunenburg County’s Planning Commission will hold a public hearing June 20 to discuss a possible location for a permanent trash disposal center, according to a public notice provided by the commission.
The hearing will focus on properties owned by Virginia H. Wilson and Mary Sue Broadie from the life estate of Willie M. and Edna B. Tisdale, on the southwest side of the intersection of Oral Oaks Road on Route 635 and Gary Road on Route 644, according to the notice.
According to the notice, Wilson and Ms. Tisdale have given permission to apply the conditional use permit on the properties.
The hearing will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the second
floor courtroom of the Lunenburg Courts Building.
The properties, according to the notice, are approximately four acres in size.
A previous site for a trash disposal center had been proposed in the Oral Oaks Road and Red Level Lane area last year, but the decision was put on hold after residents voiced concerns that the site could create lower property values and attract wild animals.
The Lunenburg County Planning Commission encourages those who wish to attend to contact the commission in advance for special accommodations by calling (434) 696- 2142.
