A 28-year-old Blackstone man will return to jail for an additional 10 months for violating the conditions of his parole for a 2011 burglary and grand larceny conviction.
According to Commonwealth’s Attorney Robert Clement, Jacob Alexander Grice violated his good behavior condition last August when he assaulted a Blackstone police officer who was responding to a domestic complaint at the Church Street home that Grice shared with his wife.
The Blackstone police report reveals Grice grabbed an officer by the wrist and pushed him in the chest when he rushed from the dwelling.
“He ran on foot, was pursued, and eventually came back into the yard of the house where he was arrested,” officials said in a press release. “Grice received three years and eight months to serve in Nottoway Circuit Court for the felony assault on the law enforcement officer, and the misdemeanors of resisting arrest and fleeing a law enforcement officer.”
