The Lunenburg Middle School (LMS) Blue Devils softball team earned a big win last week and also experienced a mid-game postponement due to weather.

On March 20, the Blue Devils played at home against the Cumberland Dukes. Kennedy Moody got the start and went the distance for LMS. She earned the win with five strikeouts while giving up three runs.

The rest of the squad helped her out with the bats. Moody went 2-for-3, while teammate Reagan Harris went 2-for-4. Tristan Buchanan was 2-for-2, and Cayley Stokes hit 3-for-3 in the game. Ellie Anderson and Anna Inzeo drove in key RBIs to push the Blue Devils to a 13-3 victory.

In a March 18 LMS game versus Prince Edward, play was suspended in the top of the third inning due to what can only be described as winter’s inability to let us have spring. The remainder of that rained-out game will be made up at a later date.

The Blue Devils look forward to the rest of the schedule, continuing the pace.
