The Victoria Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-2020 budget is set to have a public hearing Tuesday, May 14, 7 p.m. at the Victoria Town Office, 1809 Main St.
Compared with the FY 2018-2019 budget, the proposed budget sees an overall increase of approximately $12,000.
There are no tax or utility rate changes proposed for the FY 2019- 2020 budget, Victoria Town Manager Rodney Newton said.
A few of the largest increases in the proposed budget include, under general fund anticipated expenditures proposed increases to trash/refuse, with the FY 2019-2020 estimation being $92,450 versus $85,067 in FY 2018-2019.
Newton said the increase in trash/refuse is due to personnel costs and equipment expenditures.
Among other slight increases included meal tax and pool revenue at $24,000 in meals tax for FY 2019-2020 versus $20,625 for FY 2018- 2019; and $12,000 for pool passes for FY 2019- 2020 versus $11,250 in FY 2018-2019.
Newton said the budget revenue projections were increased based on figures for these revenue sources over the last three years.
