Kenbridge resident murdered

The death of a Kenbridge resident resulted in an arrest of a suspect for first-degree murder.
Earl Ray Cox, 40, of Kenbridge, died after being transported to VCU Medical Center in Richmond via MedFlight with multiple injuries. He was unresponsive at the scene of the incident.
Cox was taken to the to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for an autopsy.
The incident was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sugar Hill Road in Lunenburg County. A 36-year-old woman was also injured, but was treated and released from Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill.
Officials from the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office said that Terrence Alonzo King, 50, of Richmond was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder, felony aggravated malicious wounding, and two misdemeanor counts of property damage.
King was known to the victims, according to police.
King is currently being held at Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville with no bond.
He is set to be at the Lunenburg County General District Court on Wednesday, May 15, for advisement of his rights to an attorney.
