Kavs fall to Gators, 54-22

Kenston Forest School’s varsity football team struggled Friday, Oct. 18, against visiting Greenbrier Christian Academy as the Gators were able to leave with a 54-22 victory. “(The) boys played well at times but we made too many mistakes in the long run,” Kavaliers Head Coach Joseph Kaiser said. Despite the loss, the Kavs still had several noteworthy standouts. “Quinton Hawkins was extremely impressive, offensive and defensively,” Kaiser said. Hawkins went 5-for-7 passing for 136 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also had 17 carries for 137 yards and two touchdowns and logged 10 tackles on defense. Junior Ronique Capers had a 66-yard touchdown catch, which he is seen taking to the end zone in the photo above at left. Capers also had four carries for 41 yards and completed an 18-yard pass. On defense, he led the way with 19 tackles. The Kavs (6-3) host St. Anne’s-Belfield School on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
