NOVEMBER 8 – 27 

MONDAY NIGHT QUILTERS EXHIBIT — The Monday Night Quilters will have their annual quilt exhibit on display at the Victoria Public Library, located at 1417 7th Street in Victoria, through Nov. 27. This includes a number of quilts made by residents of both Kenbridge and Victoria. The exhibit is open during regular library hours. 

NOVEMBER 10 

KENBRIDGE OFFICES CLOSED — The Town of Kenbridge will have its offices closed on Friday, Nov. 10, in observance of Veterans Day. 

NOVEMBER 11 

FREE LOCAL MUSIC — The Rosewood, located at 11426 Courthouse Road in Lunenburg, will host musician JB Crenshaw on Saturday, Nov. 11. Music begins at 7 p.m. 

THEATER PERFORMANCE — The Southside Area Community Theater, located at 511 E. 5th Avenue in Kenbridge, will host a performance of “Mama Won’t Fly” on Saturday, Nov. 11. The show, directed by Allyson Johnson-Green, begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at www.sactgroup.com. 

NOVEMBER 12 

WORSHIP SERVICE — Victoria Baptist Church, located at 1423 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services on Sunday, Nov. 12. Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. and worship begins at 11 a.m. For the sermon, Dr. Tom Stocks will be finishing up his series on The Fruit of the Spirit. 

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY — Mt. Bethel Baptist Church will celebrate its 119th church anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 12, during the 11 a.m. service. Tammie Gibbs of Fredericksburg will be the guest speaker.

NOVEMBER 19 

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY — Gilfield Baptist Church in Kenbridge will celebrate its 128th church anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 19, beginning at noon. Rev. Beverly Smith, Pastor of Finneywood Baptist Church in Chase City will deliver the message, with music from her church choir. 

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY — Saint Matthew’s Baptist Church, located at 219 N. Broad Street in Kenbridge, will celebrate its 150th anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 19 during a 3 p.m. service. Dr. Cavelle Phillips, Pastor of the Unity Community Church in Powhatan, will serve as MC for the service. Dr. Dwight Jones, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in South Richmond, will deliver the message, with special music from the Voices of Unity. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. 

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY — Zion Hill Baptist Church, located at 1197 Burkeville Road in Victoria, will celebrate Family and Friends Day on Sunday, Nov. 19, during a 4 p.m. service. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ralph Friend, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. 

NOVEMBER 25 

FREE LOCAL MUSIC — The Rosewood, located at 11426 Courthouse Road in Lunenburg, will host saxophone musician Michael Redman on Saturday, Nov. 25. Music begins at 7 p.m. 

DECEMBER 2 

HORSE RESCUE OPEN HOUSE — White Bird Appaloosa Horse Rescue, located at 1688 Burkes Tavern Road in Burkeville, will hold an open house on Sunday, Dec. 2 from noon to 7 p.m. There will be chili, hot drinks, cookies, popcorn and music, to go along with pony rides, a raffle, different games and vendors. CHURCH SERVICES — Bethany Baptist Church, located at 5968 Plank Road in Kenbridge, holds worship services on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Service starts at 11 a.m. and masks are optional. 

CHURCH SERVICES — Victoria Evangelical Presbyterian Church, located at 1419 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services each Sunday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

CHURCH SERVICES — New Grove Baptist Church is open for in-person morning worship and teleconferences on the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. In-person Sunday School will be held every week at 10 a.m. The call-in telephone number is 301-715- 8592. CHURCH SERVICES — New Galilee Baptist Church, located at 4565 Plank Road in Kenbridge, has re-opened its church doors for in-person and teleconference services. These will be held every first and third Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. Masks are required and people are asked to bring their own Bible. 

CHURCH SERVICES — Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 127 Oak Grove Road, holds worship services on each first and third Sunday at 11:30 a.m. under the leadership of Rev. Boris Bullock.
