MARCH 23 

PASTOR’S AID PRAYER BREAKFAST — Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, located at 102 Aiken Road in Kenbridge, will host the annual Pastor’s Aide Ministry prayer breakfast on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 9 a.m. 

MEDITATION FOR BUSY PEOPLE — Victoria Public Library will host a further exploration of meditation, organized by Angie Tharpe. It’ll be held on Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Attendees will further explore research-based meditation practices to improve overall wellness that easily fit into a busy schedule. FREEDOM FUND BANQUET — The Lunenburg County branch of the NAACP will hold a Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, March 23. The event begins at 3 p.m. and will be held at The People’s Community Center, located at 1021 Tidewater Avenue in Victoria. Farmville attorney Mr. James E. Ghee will be the guest speaker. FREE LOCAL MUSIC — The Rosewood, located at 11426 Courthouse Road in Lunenburg, will play host to musician Mama Bribri on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 7 p.m. 

MARCH 24 

MORNING WORSHIP — Victoria Baptist Church, located at 1423 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services on Sunday, March 24, with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Dr. Tom Stocks will continue his sermon series for Easter, entitled “Seven Last Words of The Cross.” 

MARCH 28 

MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE — Victoria Christian Church, located at 2100 Lee Avenue, welcomes the community to its re-enactment of Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m. The re-enactment will be followed by Holy Communion. 

MARCH 30 

EASTER EGG HUNT — Victoria Christian Church, located at 2100 Lee Avenue in Victoria, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a Bible lesson, lunch, an egg hunt and lunch. 

TURKEY SHOOT — Disabled American Veterans Chapter #28 will hold a turkey shoot on Saturday, March 30, beginning at 11 a.m. This will be over at 1019 Mt. Nebo Road in Blackstone, with free ammo and refreshments provided, along with a winner chosen each round. 

FREE LOCAL MUSIC — The Rosewood, located at 11426 Courthouse Road in Lunenburg, will play host to musician Russell Lynch on Saturday, March 30, beginning at 7 p.m. 

MARCH 31 

EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE — Victoria Christian Church, 2100 Lee Avenue, will hold its annual Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 31. A pancake breakfast will follow. 

UPPER END UNION CHURCH SCHOOL — The Upper End Union Church school will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2246 Rehoboth Road on Sunday, March 31, beginning at 10 a.m. 

APRIL 5 

FREE LOCAL MUSIC — The Rosewood, located at 11426 Courthouse Road in Lunenburg, will hold a classical music night with musician Ashby Pernell on Friday, April 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m. 

APRIL 7 

VETERANS EVENT — Representatives of the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond will be at the Kenbridge Town Hall auditorium on Sunday, April 7. The program will focus on how veterans and their families can supply information for a permanent collection about those who served in World War II and other U.S. military operations. The town hall is located at the old Kenbridge High School, 511 E. Fifth Avenue and the event, sponsored by the William Taylor chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, begins at 2:30 p.m. 

APRIL 27 

VICTORIA HIGH SCHOOL REUNION — The annual gathering of former students and guests from Victoria High will take place at Lunenburg Middle School, beginning at noon on Saturday, April 27. No advance registration is required for the luncheon. The cost is $20 for a baked chicken meal, payable at the door. All who attended Victoria High and their guests are welcome. ONGOING 

CAR CLUB MEETS — The Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club meets the second Monday each month at Merk’s Place in Farmville. Eat in at 6 p.m., meeting at 7 p.m. Cruise ins are held on the third Saturday from April through October in the parking lot by Tractor Supply in Farmville. 5 p.m. till dusk. Any car owner is welcome to join the club or bring their car to the cruise ins. 

CHURCH SERVICES — Bethany Baptist Church, located at 5968 Plank Road in Kenbridge, holds worship services on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Sunday School is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Bring your Bible. Face masks are required and social distancing is practiced. All are welcome.
