Raymond Morris Martin, 91 of Lunenburg Courthouse, passed away on June 4. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Martin; his parents, Edith and Roy Martin, and his brothers, Julian and Eddie Bert Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Dalton Martin; his daughter, Theresa Steele (Kevin); his daughter-in-law, Sherry Martin Harris (Eddie) and four grandchildren, Josh and Luke Martin and Ethan and Bailey Steele.

The family is forever grateful to his caregivers who for the last year sacrificed endless time to make sure he could live in the privacy of his own home until the end. Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked in the forestry and logging industry until he retired. He was a friend to all, always ready to make you laugh or help you out if you needed him. He enjoyed reading and socializing, especially at Timmy’s Grocery with his best bud, Timmy Clark.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 8, at Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in his memory to the Victoria Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 376, Victoria, VA 23974. Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, in charge of arrangements.
