They gave one final donation before the project ended. After several years, the Lunenburg Veterans Outreach and Support Group (LVOSG) provided their last gift of aluminum to the Ronald McDonald’s House Charity. 

The group, which is a voluntary membership organization of incarcerated veterans involved in peer support and community outreach, made a final donation of more than 100 pounds of aluminum can tab openers. 

The veterans group has supported the can tabs initiative for several years; however, the switch from cans to plastic bottles by the prison commissary has forced the group to discontinue their involvement. The Lunenburg Veterans Group will be actively searching for new partnerships and ways to give back to the community.
