Benchmark Community Bank announced a promotion over the weekend. Becka Green will now be branch manager for the bank’s Crewe location in Nottoway County. Green’s promotion preceded the June 1 retirement of longtime Senior Branch Manager Beth Robertson.

“We are so pleased that Becka has accepted this position,” said John Webb, Benchmark’s Senior Vice President/Regional Manager. “Since initially joining the Crewe branch in 2016 and then returning in 2018, Becka has been an asset to the Bank and the community. Early on, she demonstrated a sincere interest in learning the Banking industry, how a local bank impacts and supports the community it serves and exploring ways to be a true community partner.”

A native of Gloucester, Green participated in the Virginia Bankers Association’s (VBA) Bank Day program her senior year in high school – and was hooked on Banking as a career. While enrolled at Rappahannock Community College, she worked at a local bank and began networking to learn more about the various departments. In late 2015, she relocated to Crewe and began her Benchmark career as a roving teller the following January.

During her time with Benchmark, Green has moved through the retail banking ranks while enhancing her skill set through the VBA Supervisor’s School, as well as various banking and accounting courses. She advanced in 2022 to Relationship Banker and worked closely with Robertson to support the Crewe customers and community.

“I have big shoes to fill since Beth has retired,” Green said. “Her legacy is the lasting impressions, solid relationships, and professional integrity she has built here. I want to follow in her footsteps to be Benchmark to Crewe.”

Green said that being in retail banking allows her to be part of the community she’s come to love through its people, places, and events. She is excited for the opportunity to grow personally and professionally to better serve her adopted hometown of Crewe.
