OCTOBER 18
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL — The Central High Chargers will play host to Nottoway County High on Friday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Central High, located at 131 K-V Road in Victoria.
OCTOBER 19
MEDITATION AT THE LIBRARY — The Meditation for Busy People class will meet on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Victoria Library, located at 1517 7th Street. It will run from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Attendees will learn several simple research-based meditation practices to improve overall wellness that easily fit into a busy schedule. CRUISE-IN — The last cruise-in of the season by the Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the parking lot by Tractor Supply in Farmville. It starts at 5 p.m. and runs until dusk. Residents are invited to bring their own classic car to show or just come to check them out.
MOVIE UNDER THE STARS — The next “Movie Under The Stars” will take place at Kenbridge Town Park on Saturday, Oct. 19. The free movie begins at 7:30 p.m., hosted by the Lunenburg United Futbol Club. Concessions will be sold, with profits going to support the team.
OCTOBER 20
MEN’S DAY — Zion Hill Baptist Church will hold Men’s Day on Sunday, Oct. 20 during a 3 p.m. program. The church will also be honoring Deacon Theodore Gibson for serving 20 years in the deacon ministry. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ray Smith, Pastor of Unity Baptist Church and Starlight Baptist Church in Kenbridge.
PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY — West Hill Baptist Church, located at 10349 Oral Oaks Road in Victoria, will celebrate their first anniversary with Pastor Melissa Hymon on Sunday, Oct. 20 during a 3 p.m. service. Rev. Sandra Jones of First Baptist Church in Victoria will deliver the message, with special music by the Lombardy Grove Baptist Choir.
MORNING WORSHIP — Victoria Baptist Church, located at 1423 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services on Sunday, Oct. 20, with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Pastor Tom will continue his sermon series “Prodigal Son”.

JV FOOTBALL — The Central High junior varsity football team will play host to Cumberland High on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Central High, located at 131 K-V Road in Victoria.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY — Rosebud Baptist Church Missionary Ministry will celebrate their 59th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. Rev. Dr. Anna Wilson of Little Mount Baptist Church in Blackstone will deliver the anniversary sermon. The dress attire is white.

CHAMBER EVENT — The Lunenburg County Chamber of Commerce will host a concert featuring the group Appalachian Express on Saturday, Nov. 2. That’ll be at Kenbridge Town Hall, 511 East 5th Avenue, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the concert starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. You can buy tickets at Benchmark Community Bank, at the Kenbridge Town Hall, at Kenbridge Oil Company and at Smith’s Pharmacy.
NOVEMBER 3
PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY — Oak Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Rev. Boris Bullock’s second anniversary with the church on Sunday, Nov. 3, during a 3 p.m. service. Pastor Steven Jones from Good Hope Baptist Church in Petersburg will deliver the message, with dinner served.

CHURCH SERVICES — Victoria Evangelical Presbyterian Church, located at 1419 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services each Sunday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
CHURCH SERVICES — New Grove Baptist Church is open for in-person morning worship and teleconferences on the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. In-person Sunday School will be held every week at 10 a.m. The call-in telephone number is 301-715-8592. CHURCH SERVICES — New Galilee Baptist Church, located at 4565 Plank Road in Kenbridge, has re-opened its church doors for in-person and teleconference services. These will be held every first and third Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m.
CHURCH SERVICES — Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 127 Oak Grove Road, holds worship services on each first and third Sunday at 11:30 a.m. under the leadership of Rev. Boris Bullock.
VFW MEETINGS — The VFW and VFW Auxiliary meet at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at VFW Post No. 9954 in Victoria. The members of the VFW and the Auxiliary share a dinner at 6:15 p.m. prior to the meeting.
