We are moving into a new year, the year 2025, anticipating exciting and extraordinary things from Jesus. We are grateful for the blessings He has given us. For example, God has truly gifted us with outstanding weather for this time of year. This morning, I spoke to my friend, Ethel, after talking to Jesus. She commented on how she feels when the sun shines and the wind blows; it makes her leaves joyful. Daily conversations with Ethel, the tree in my front yard, have been the highlight of my mornings this year.
Also, Jesus has gracefully blessed us with a bird sanctuary near my home. There are many types of birds, but my two favorites are the Cardinals and the Bluejays. One morning, I went outside, and the yard was covered with birds. My daughter hates it when they come because they eat the grass, but I love them because I don’t have to clean up after them.
What are the geese doing in the new year?
I enter the deck each morning to see what the geese are doing. Yesterday, when I went outside to observe the geese, I noticed that one single goose was crossing the street while another group of geese looked on. Unexpectedly, one of the geese from the group stood up and began charging at the goose, from there, the fight was on.
My favorite thing about the geese is how they travel to the other pond around the block when they leave our pond. I love the formation: One crosses the street and watches, the next stands (back) in the street watching, and the leader (front) comes out. The geese come out three at a time, husband, wife, and child on the inside. Finally, the two lookout geese join the formation. Thank You, Jesus, for protecting Your own. It is an incredible sight.
New Pastor
Jesus, You have given us a wonderful pastor who knows how to teach and lead. Our pastor was an assistant but has the assignment. In Bible Study, he makes sure each of us understands the lesson.
My Gratitude
I write this because I am very grateful for all the blessings Jesus has restored to me. First, He gave me life; at 87 years old, I have the best life ever. He wakes me each morning with little or no pain, and He gives me the strength that I need to achieve. I have family and friends. Looking over my life, I know I could not have come this far without Jesus. I know Jesus, You have more significant things for me and others. I give You praises for all things.
In December, we celebrated two deceased family members. First, on Dec. 24, My daughter-in-law, Mary Simmons. Then on Dec. 26, my mother, Mary Pennington.
Jesus, You blessed me with a fantastic mother and a daughter, not a daughter-in-law. Jesus, what can I ask for that you have not given me. My family and friends are well.
Be Blessed In Jesus’ Name.
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14.
