MARCH 28 

COMMUNITY THEATRE – The Southside Area Community Theatre will perform ‘Kitchen Witches’ at the Kenbridge Auditorium on Friday, March 28. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15. The auditorium is located at 511 E. 5th Avenue in Kenbridge. You can buy tickets at sacttheater.com.

MARCH 29 

COMMUNITY DINNER – There will be a free community dinner at St. Paul and St. Andrew Episcopal Church, located at 512 South Broad Street in Kenbridge. That’ll take place on Saturday, March 29, with eat-in serving from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and take-out serving from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

VFW BANQUET – The annual VFW and VFW Auxiliary #9954 Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 29 at the Post Home. Social hour is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the banquet starting at 6 p.m., followed by the program. All members and one guest per member are welcome. Members need to reserve a meal by contacting the VFW quartermaster at topharvester@centurylink.net or by calling the VFW Auxiliary Secretary at 434-480-0201.

MORNING WORSHIP – Victoria Baptist Church, located at 1423 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services on Sunday, March 30. Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m., with worship at 11 a.m. Pastor Tom continues his sermon series “I Love You to Death (Journey to the Cross)”.

MUSICAL WORSHIP – A musical worship service will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church, located at 2006 County Line Road, beginning at 11 a.m. Musical guests will be Curtis Hyler and Jubilation from North Carolina. A covered dish luncheon will follow the service at noon.

INSTALLATION SERVICE – New Grove Baptist Church, located at 32 New Grove Road in Kenbridge, will hold the installation service of pastor-elect Rev. Dr. Jimmy Dews on Sunday, March 30, starting at 3 p.m. Rev. Dr. James Walker, pastor of Hickory Run Baptist Church in Rawlings, will deliver the message. 

APRIL 1

LADIES BIBLE STUDY – Kenbridge Christian Church, located at 519 S. Broad Street, will hold a Ladies Bible Study on Tuesday, April 1. That’ll take place from 9:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with the group studying 1, 2 and 3rd John.

APRIL 6

FOOD DISTRIBUTION – Victoria Church of the Nazarene, located at 1404 6th Street in Victoria, will distribute food on Sunday, April 6, beginning at noon. This will be done on a first come, first serve basis. 

APRIL 13 

KIDS PAINT PARTY – Victoria Church of the Nazarene, located at 1404 6th Street in Victoria, will hold a Kids and Teens Paint Party on Sunday, April 13. That’ll start at 1:30 p.m. and will be a free event for everyone ages 5 through 18. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To reserve a spot, email PastorTabitha1@gmail.com.

APRIL 19 

CRUISE-IN – The Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club will hold its first cruise-in on Saturday, April 19, at the parking lot by Tractor Supply in Farmville. That will run from 5 p.m. until dusk. Bring your classic or antique to show or just drop by and check them out. There will be a 50/50 raffle held as well. 

APRIL 20 

SUNRISE SERVICE – Victoria Christian Church will hold its annual Sunrise Service, a century-old tradition, on Easter Sunday. That’ll take place Sunday, April 20, starting at 6:30 a.m. Interim Pastor Michael Lacks will deliver the message, followed by a light breakfast and time of fellowship. The church is located at 2100 Lee Avenue in Victoria. 

MAY 3 

FARMERS MARKET — The Kenbridge Farmers Market will open for the 2025 season on Saturday, May 3. That’ll take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The market is held on East Fifth Avenue, just across from the Kenbridge Recreation Center. 

SPRING FLING – The Town of Kenbridge will hold its annual Spring Fling on Saturday, May 3 at the Kenbridge Recreation Center. That’ll run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with baked goods and treats, as well as spring decorations and other gifts for sale. For more information, call Suzie Austin, Event Coordinator, at 434-676-2452. 

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION – The Victoria High School annual reunion will be held on Saturday, May 3, starting at noon. That’ll take place at Central High School of Lunenburg in Victoria. The price will be $20, payable at the door. Note that the location and price have changed. Also, no advanced reservations are required. Dress is casual. Any questions?
