Nationally known artist Eldridge Bagley has long captured everyday life through powerful storytelling.
“Through the ages, humans have tended to gather memorable experiences (good and bad) and tuck them away in the mind and heart for safekeeping,” he said. “When certain experiences cry out to be shared, they often find expression through literature, art, and music. I came to realize the truth of this in my own journey as an artist.”
Bagley will begin a new journey with MacCallum More Museum & Gardens on May 18 with the unveiling of “Roads Taken” the first exhibit of Eldridge Bagley in Partnership with MacCallum More Museum & Gardens. The reception will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. In order to assure that everyone has an equal opportunity to view, and possibly purchase artwork, there will be no early viewing or presales. The museum doors will open promptly at 3 p.m.
Bagley’s work resonates with viewers for its emotional depth and powerful storytelling.
The viewer rapidly becomes involved with the stories and starts to wonder about the people and their lives. It is this vivid imagery that draws us in as we become part of the narrative and are transported to another time and place.
Multiple Eldridge Bagley exhibits go on display
This partnership will see yearly exhibits of Eldridge Bagley’s work in the MacCallum More Museum from May-August.
“I have had the opportunity and privilege of exhibiting my art at MacCallum More Museum several times in recent years,” Bagley said. “Through those experiences, I came to realize how the beauty and serenity of the museum and gardens provides an idyllic setting for enjoyment of the arts. I am pleased to be working with MacCallum More on plans to feature my art there.”
