Thomas Albert ‘Tib’ Brown

Thomas Albert, “Tib”, Brown, 87, of Dundas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017. He was one of eight children born to the late Irvin Preston Brown & Aida Baisey Brown. He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Elsie Joyce Chandler Brown of Dundas, Virginia, and his children,

Thomas Albert Brown, Jr., Irving Preston Brown of Florida, and Sharon Brown Lyles (Billy), of Kenbridge, Virginia. Tib’s passion was hunting, fishing, dogs, and the love of the outdoors. He was known for his expertise in the field of bird dog training. He was a lifelong member of Perseverance Christian Church, holding the position of financial secretary for 25 years, and served as an appointed church deacon as well as on various committees. He was also an active member of the Dundas Ruritan Club for over 50 years. He retired after 41 years as a master carpenter and supervisor from Kenbridge Construction Company.

Tib proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army, Company B 89th Tank Battalion Medium, then transferred to the Army Reserve. He received numerous commendations and medals including KSM, W/1 BSS, UNSM during his 5 year tour.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Perseverance Christian Church, P. O. Box 157 Dundas, VA 23938. Visitation was held at Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, VA on Monday January 1, 2018 at 1 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm. Online condolences may be made at www.clarkefh.com.
