Central High School’s junior varsity (JV) girls basketball team went 3-0 last week, but the JV boys team is still looking to string together some victories.

The Lady Chargers fell 43-32 to visiting Amelia on Monday, but last week helped them establish positive overall momentum. Their record was 6-7 going into Tuesday night’s home game against Prince Edward, the end of a four-game homestand.

On Friday, Central defeated visiting Randolph-Henry 35-26. The Lady Chargers routed visiting William Campbell 35-8 on Jan. 24, and they topped host Bluestone 36-20 on Jan. 23.

Central’s JV boys team fell 50-41 to host Amelia on Monday after losing 51-33 on the road against Randolph-Henry on Friday.

This Thursday at 5:30 p.m., the Chargers host Cumberland, while the Lady Chargers visit Cumberland.
