Central High School’s junior varsity football team will have to wait another week to open its 2018 season. The Chargers’ road game against William Campbell on Thursday was postponed due to lightning.

Mike McGrath, Central’s head coach, confirmed the game will be rescheduled for later in the season.

“We are looking at sometime in October,” he said.

The Chargers now expect to begin their regular season Thursday, 6:30 p.m., at home against Goochland.
