Central routs Dukes

Central High School’s varsity football team topped host Cumberland County High School 48-6 on Friday for its second straight win of the season.

The Chargers, who led 27-0 by halftime, enjoyed great success with its run game, registering 38 carries for 420 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 11.1 yards per carry.

T’Zion Wilkerson had 11 carries for 145 yards and three scores. Darien Jones gained 96 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, Khalil Wood had five carries for 58 yards and a score and Daquan Lee ran five times for 42 yards.

On defense, Geontra Ragsdale led the Chargers with 11 tackles, include four solo and one for a loss.

Central (2-3) visits Bluestone High School on Friday at 7 p.m.
