The fifth-seeded Central High School’s varsity girls volleyball team fell 3-0 to No. 4 Cumberland County High School on Thursday in the Region 1B tournament quarterfinals.

“I thought we had good moments throughout the match, but just never really got going,” Central Head Coach Alan Hershberger said.

The Lady Chargers ended the year with a 7-12 overall record.

“I think we set a good foundation for next year and hope to build on our progress from this year,” Hershberger said. “… I think we grew as a team all year. We competed really well with some of the strongest teams in the district, so hopefully we can use that experience to keep improving next year.”
