Kind words

I woke up this morning talking to Jesus. I said, this is a beautiful and wonderful day. You woke me and there was no news of the family chain broken. I repeated it’s a great day and thanked the lord for loving and protecting my family.
I began to listen to the news and there was so much anguish going on that I changed the station and begin to think of kindness. That’s what the world needs, a little more compassion and understanding. A little kindness goes a long way.
Sometimes all we need to hear is a kind word. My friend called me the other day to say that she loved me. Can you imagine how that made me feel? It made me feel as if I was the queen of the kingdom. All she said was that you don’t have to call me back, I just wanted to let you know that I love you.
A kind word can lift a person’s spirit. Kindness is like a boomerang, when it is thrown out, it can be returned to you. Remember what you send out comes back, so be polite and kind in your behavior and the same will return to you. I was at the post office when an elderly woman was rushing to get the door, I held it and told her not to rush. She smiled and said thank you. One good deed deserves another because when I left the post office a young man held the door open for me, I smiled and said thank you.
Another time I was traveling and going through the toll booth. The toll operator said there was no need for me to pay, the person in the car in front of us paid for me and a few other cars. Wow! I was so touched. Imagine if all of us performed an act of kindness for someone we didn’t know and someone who wouldn’t even be able to say thank you because the kindness was an anonymous act. What a gift of love that would be.
The other night I met some of my daughter’s friends. I loved talking to them and listening to them. They told the funniest stories; the husband and wife were trying to outdo each other. The things they were telling could not have been true but the conversations were so refreshing and the food was superb. They were showing their kindness welcoming me to town and we spent the evening laughing and enjoying ourselves.
This is what Jesus said about kindness:
Ephesians 4:32 – And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.
Psalm 36:7 – How precious is your loving kindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
Psalm 117:2 – For His loving kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord is everlasting.
Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
