Members of the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a donation that the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office received as part of a promotion at an out-of-county furniture store.
According to County Administrator Tracy Gee, the county was notified that the Sheriff’s Office received a $25 donation as part of a promotion from Karobway Furniture Company, located in South Hill.
Between Memorial Day and Independence Day, the furniture stores allocates $25 to any first responder organization the customer chooses to donate, following a purchase of any recliner or mattress.
A letter from Karobway owner Robert Smith to the county indicates that customer Akhnaton Bay asked the funds to go to the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Gee said the donation would go toward the sheriff office’s uniform line.
