Inner sunshine

On Wednesday morning I was in the doctor’s office where I met a man; he was speaking before I even sat down. He was such a bundle of joy and displayed such “inner sunshine.” His name is Jim and he’s 88 years old. He’s married and his wife Susie is 86.
Jim told me that he and his wife have been married for 32 years. He found her later in life and said he has been blessed ever since. Susie does everything for Jim and he just relaxes and reads his books. She writes all the checks but Jim said it’s his money. That made both of us smile because we both know there is no such thing as “his money.”
Jim said he once wanted a truck that cost $17,000 but he didn’t know how he was going to pay for it. Jim told Susie and she worked her magic. Two days later she gave him the title to the truck he wanted. Susie is my world and I love her. Without her in my life I would be lost.
Jim surely was blessed by the Lord and it reflects in how he treats and greets people. He brings joy and comfort to everyone he meets. When the nurse called him she said you made another friend. I heard him tell her I was nice and he enjoyed talking to me.
After leaving the doctor’s office, my daughter and I drove to the store. She went inside and I stayed in the car. I was listening to music when I saw a man walking by. He looked so sad that I channeled my inner “sunshine” and said hello to him. I made a comment about what a beautiful day God has blessed us with. He smiled and said yes indeed. We said other words, laughed, and he said have a great day. He returned a short while later with a flower that he presented to me. He said thanks and walked away. That let me know that no matter what is going on, we must show our inner sunshine. You never know who needs it.
Show your inner sunshine, you never know what kind of blessing you will get from it. Thank you Jesus for loving me and giving me sunshine to share with others and letting others share their sunshine with me. Psalms 18:1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
