After seeing the COVID-19 pandemic delay its 2020 season significantly, Lunenburg Girls’ Softball (LGS) is experiencing another delay to its season, this time as a result of weather.
The start of play, originally set for Saturday, June 27, has been pushed back by two weeks.
“Due to the rain last week and not getting any practice until this week, we decided to wait until July 11 to start,” LGS Commissioner Tim Fowler said Friday, June 26. “(We) probably won’t firm (up the) schedule until the first of that week.”
He noted LGS will be hosting the Belles and Debs age divisions, which feature players ages 13-19.
