High school seniors who will be graduating in the spring from Charlotte, Halifax, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg counties and who plan to attend college are eligible to apply for the Southside Virginia Herb Society scholarship.

To be eligible, a 500-word typed essay explaining the role that plants or the study of plants/agriculture have played in your life or your career goals must be included.

Submit the essay, proof of college enrollment and a separate piece of paper with your name, address, phone number, high school and GPA to: Southside Virginia Herb Society, 633 Legrande Ave., Charlotte Court House, Va. 23923. Your application must arrive by May 1.
