Dear Lord,
I saw the sun shining so brightly this morning. It made me remember my family and how blessed I am that you have given them to me. I am blessed for my earthly father, for enduring every hard day to be able to provide for us and never complaining. I am blessed for my mother who loves us unconditionally just like Mary loved Jesus. She provided us with breakfast food on the table which was very delicious. Amen.
I am unsure of the author, but she has fond memories of her family and thanked Jesus in a heartfelt prayer.
Have you ever read a prayer someone wrote or heard a song that expresses how you feel? Here is a letter thanking Jesus for her family.
We all have memories stored in our hearts that we praise God. My early memories are of a midwife called Mrs. Lumpfried. She must have been a family friend because I remember her always at our home. When we were ill, she gave us a potent tonic, and we hated it, but it worked.
Growing up in the South, there are fond memories of Revival services; sometimes, they begin early in the Spring and end up in the Fall. Fellowshipping from one church to another. Homecoming was the Sunday before the revival, and revival was Monday through Friday at 7:00 or 7:30/
I remember our church had a bell that could be heard throughout the community, and we knew revival had started. We came from every direction early to get a seat, laughing and talking, entering the church. The churches were filled, and it was “old-time singing and preaching.
Another memory is when four church members sang “Old Time Religion,” it seemed as if they sang the song for an hour or more, but we did not mind because the church was in the Spirit. Each one sang a verse over and over.
I am blessed by you, Jesus, for the memories You have given my anonymous friend and all the memories You have given us.
Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
