Edward Allen Marker, 69 of Victoria, joined his family in Heaven on Jan. 26. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Adkins Marker; a son, Randolph “Randy” Marker and two brothers, James Marker and Howard Phillips.
He is survived by his daughters, Catherine E. Wells (Gus) of Appomattox, Crystal Gosney (Kevin) of Rehoboth and Barbie Jo Cox (KC) of Victoria; his grandchildren, Jermanie, Leslie, Logan, Tori, Mercedes, Lexus, Gus, Emily, Alyssa and Jackson; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Shirley Gaulding (Barry), Janet Garrett, Gloria Jean Ingram, Alma Armstrong, Barbie Jo Ball (Mark) and Pam Eastwood (Bobby); his brothers, Bernard “Speedy” Marker, Kenneth Ayscue and Tommy Marker; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and devoted caregiver, Meghan Massey.
Edward grew up in Victoria. He was a painting contractor. He enjoyed his work, riding around town or riding out to check on the progress of Sammy’s new home, going to Walmart with Meghan, the nightly news, a good cup of Maxwell House coffee and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and giving ways, as he would give you the shirt off his back.
The family received friends Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, where funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria.
