“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD. my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14.
On Sunday, March 31, I attended Sunrise Service at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Port Richey, Florida, celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
The service was held outside and we watched the Sun rising through the trees, it was a touching moment. Imagine! What a shock and a blessing. It was the rising of the sun when Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went to the sepulchre to anoint Jesus’ body with sweet spices and found out Jesus is alive, as we see in Mark 16:1.
They were wondering who would roll the stone away from the door of the sepulchre. When they arrived, the stone was moved and as they entered, there was a young man in a white robe sitting on the right side and they were frightened.
“He said, “Be not afraid: you seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified, He is risen; He is not here, behold where they laid Him. Go tell the disciples and Peter that He goes to Galilee and will see them as He said.” Mark 16: 6 & 7.
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples to tell them that Jesus lived; they did not believe her, as we see in Mark 16:11. Praise the Lord for a Risen Savior. Because Jesus got up from the grave we can face tomorrow because He lives. When we think of the horrible way Jesus died; on the cross with nails in His hands and feet, pierced in the side, and blood streaming down His face, all because He loved us. Jesus did not have to die because no one could take His life, but He willingly gave up for us.
We cannot do anything to earn Jesus’ blessing, but we try each day to be a little like Jesus. We try to keep His commandments by loving Him and each other. Have a blessed day and remember what Jesus gave up for us. His Life on the Cross. As children of Jesus we must tell a dying world that Jesus lives.
Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
