On healthcare

Once again, mostly after the election, the chickens will come home to roost. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) will again be broke and in crisis mode. All the healthcare providers that were conned into the program are now trying to again back away from it. What they were led to believe by proponents turned out to be nothing but smoke and mirrors.

The question now is how do we get this mess turned around. Secretary Clinton says we need to make a few adjustments.  The only adjustment that has been proposed is to raise the penalty fees on those who have opted out of Obamacare. They believe this will help balance the books, but, just as in the past, it will drive more to develop schemes to avoid those penalties.

A better solution is to step back and reach a consensus of what role the government should have in healthcare. This includes considering what role the individual has in the healthcare of their family.
