Marie Joyce Worley Blevins, age 83, of Gretna, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 26, 1934 in Pittsylvania County. The daughter of the late Dock C. Worley and Nettie Shelton Worley. She was predeceased by two sons, William Simpson and Robert Simpson; one grandson, Jerry Simpson; two brothers, Bobby Worley and Calvin “Bill” Worley; and four sisters, Ruby Gunn, Elnora Pickeral, Evelyn “Toot” Doss and Myrtle Davis.

She enjoyed being outdoors, reading, bird and animal watching, drawing, painting, pictures and children.

She is survived by three sons; Daniel Simpson of Gretna, Gerald Simpson and wife, Pam, of Altavista, and Steven Simpson and wife, Cindy of Gretna; one daughter, Brenda Rowland, and husband, “Fuzzy” of Gretna; one brother, Jack Worley and wife Wanda, of Carlisle, PA; two sisters, Virginia Doss, of Gretna and Nancy Bryant, and husband, Randolph, of Gretna; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 15, at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Mike Allen.
