Two men were charged in connection to an alleged physical assault and altercation in Victoria reported Saturday.

Paul Scott Turner, 48, of Victoria, and James Keller, 50, of Crewe, were charged with assault, Victoria Police Department Chief Keith Phillips said.

A laceration under Keller’s left eye led to his being transported to Centra Southside Community Hospital by Victoria Fire and Rescue, Phillips said.

Keller was released from police custody following a $2,500 unsecured bond and recognizance, Phillips said.

Turner was taken to Piedmont Regional Jail and released on a $5,000 secured bond.
