The Lunenburg Girls Softball (LGS) Belles All-Star team went 2-2 in the recent Dixie Softball Belles District 1 All-Star Tournament in Blackstone, finishing as runner-up. They did not drop a game until they reached the championship round, losing consecutive games to the Clarksville All-Star team. The LGS Belles started their run in the tourney with a big 15-6 victory over the Dinwiddie All-Star team. They earned their berth in the championship round after topping Clarksville 5-3. “At times the Lunenburg girls made scoring look easy, and at other times the Clarksville girls shut us down, but the ability of our girls to keep their heads up and stay the course was an awesome sight to watch,” LGS Commissioner Tony Matthews said of that game.
