The recent State Dixie Youth Baseball Major League All-Star Tournament did not end the way its host would have preferred, but the Lunenburg County Youth Baseball League (LCYBL) Majors All-Stars still enjoyed success, notching two wins in front of the home crowd.

“The boys worked hard for me, and I’m proud of how they formed into a team,” LCYBL Majors Manager Tommy Word said.

They were eliminated after an 11-6 loss to the Buckingham All-Star team, which went undefeated in the tournament on its way to the title and a World Series berth.

Though it had two losses, Lunenburg also achieved an 11-1 win over Amelia and an 11-3 win over Clarksville.

He noted it was a team effort that helped his team tie for third place in the state.
