Christopher Lamont Neblett, son of Curtis, Jr. and Kamla Dass Neblett, was born September 9, 1981 in Richmond, Virginia and departed this life suddenly on August 30, 2017 at the age of 35.

Chris was the youngest of three children and always wanted to hang out with his older siblings. As Chris grew older, he loved to play basketball and became very good in track and field during his years at Central Senior High School. As a young man, Chris was very goal driven and wasn’t afraid to explore different opportunities to reach his success.

Chris loved music, (especially the singer “Aliyah”), laughing, art, cooking…especially his mom’s cooking, (two of his favorites were curry chicken and fried apples), motorcycles, beautiful décor, Asian culture and above all; his family. Chris loved hard, that was his strength and his weakness.

Chris worked a variety of jobs, but the most recent was being a medical transporter with Curtis Neblett Jr., his father and some would even say his best friend. If you ever saw those two together, you would agree with the statement.

Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents: Curtis O. Sr. and Josie Bell Neblett.

Chris leaves to mourn his father Curtis Neblett, Jr. and his mother Kamla Neblett of Kenbridge, Virginia; brother, Alvin Neblett of Cedarbluff, Virginia; sister, Orange Neblett of Franklin, Virginia; sons, Christopher Neblett, Jr. of Chester, Virginia; Ravi Neblett of Urbana, Illinois; fiancé Stephanie Shaffer; one niece, three nephews, and a host of cousins and friends, one in particular, cousin Derrick Winn aka “Whop” who was more of a brother than a first cousin.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 3, 2017, 12 noon, at People’s Community Center, Victoria, VA with The Rev. Michael Brown, pastor. Interment was in the Mayflower Baptist Church Cemetery, Kenbridge, Virginia.

S.P. Jones & Son Funeral Home served the family.
