Memorial golf benefit held

The Richard Speights Memorial Golf Benefit was held over the weekend, with funds going to support Lunenburg County Ministries.

“Richard L. Speights was the former president of this group and supporting those in need was a cause dear to his heart,” said John Hite. “Thanks to the many volunteers that help make this event happen and lead the organization!”

This year’s event was won by Parker Hite, Connor Mattox, Carsten Beck and Ryan Allard. Beck is a sophomore at Nottoway High and Hite is a sophomore at Central High. Allard and Mattox are both seniors at Central High and have signed to play D1 college sports next year. Allard will play baseball at Virginia Tech, while Mattox will suit up on the football field for William & Mary. Pictured here are the four winners, celebrating their victory.
