Championship finale on the links

The championship finale of the Southside Piedmont Junior Golf Association was held Thursday at Emporia Country Club, with several golfers from Lunenburg County standing out.

The boys age groups included were 16-17, 14-15, 12-13, 10-11 and 7-9. The girls age groups included were 14-17, 11-13 and 7-10.

Pictured below are the Boys 7- to 9-year-old division and the Girls 7- to 10-year-old division, the two youngest divisions in the championship finale.

Those placing in the Girls 7- to 10-year-old division, which played nine holes, included, from left, Kelsey Carter, first place with a 39; Audrey Hite, second place with a 47; Raegan Barton, third place with a 48; and Lauren Hite, fourth place with a 65.

Those placing in the Boys 7- to 9-year-old division, which played nine holes, included, from left, Mason Jones, second place with a 59; and Caleb Conner, first place with a 45.
