Victoria is looking to collect on outstanding debts.

Last month, the town hired a Pennsylvania firm to begin collecting on 243 unpaid water bill accounts.

At the time, the town sent 20 of the bills to collect on and was going to send the rest.

The firm will be paid just under 11 percent on each bill it collects on.

The town has been trying to find someone to collect on the debt, but has been unsuccessful.

Next, the town will look at hiring someone to go after overdue taxes.

“We have some of those out there, too,” Mayor Carol Watson said.

“Just as much,” Interim Town Manager Rodney Newton added.
