Powers turns 103

Marjorie Bradshaw Powers celebrated her 103rd birthday recently at the Kenbridge United Methodist Church with over 100 people in attendance. Powers was born July 22, 1916, and is the oldest member of Kenbridge Methodist Church and still attends regularly. She is also the oldest living citizen in the town of Kenbridge. Powers was a life-long educator having taught sixth grade for 38 years in Nansemond and Lunenburg counties. She retired in 1970.
