The 39th annual Autumn Days celebration is set to come to the Town of Victoria in October.

The daylong festival, followed by a Truck & Tractor Pull, is scheduled for Oct. 12.

The Autumn Days festival is set to have cook-off contests for ribs and chicken wings benefiting the Lunenburg- area Cub Scout and Boy Scout organization.

The festival is set to begin at 9 a.m. A new feature of the Autumn Days celebration and the cook-off will be that a limited amount of alcohol is set to be sold.

Victoria Town Manager Rodney Newton said the organizers were given permission to have a limited access beer and wine garden in conjunction with the cook-off. “Organizers will handle the sale of tickets which will have a per-person limit,” Newton said. “Law enforcement will also be on duty at the site of the garden to monitor the event.

Organizers of the event are responsible for compliance with Commonwealth of Virginia ABC laws. This event is not sponsored by the town and no town funds are used for this particular Autumn Day attraction.”

At 2 p.m., the gates are set to open for the Truck & Tractor Pull.
