With prices constantly shifting in the grocery store, it’s a perfect time for another option to return. The Kenbridge Farmers Market will start its season on Saturday, May 3 and will be open every week, rain or shine through the last Saturday in October. Town officials say there will again be a variety of homegrown and homemade items for attendees to choose from.

From flowers, to fruits and vegetables, to baked goods, and homemade specialty items, Kenbridge Farmers Market Coordinator Sarah Daniel told The Dispatch shoppers can expect their traditional favorites each week. She also shared this season’s market will be “more kid-friendly” than ever before, though what’s planned will remain a mystery until the market opens.

“I think right now, the market speaks for itself,” Daniel said. “But I would like the community and surrounding areas to know that yes, we are a small market, largely because we are a small town, but the market is a place where you can buy local, meet the vendors that are trying hard to provide for its customers and also a place where younger and older people can come together and learn new and old ideas.”

Where is the Kenbridge Farmers Market ?

The market is located next to the Town of Kenbridge offices, on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Maple St. The seasonal Saturday event runs from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Daniel, who has been the Kenbridge Farmers Market coordinator since 2022, said that while fresh fare and open air bring event-goers out, it’s fresh ideas and the sense of community that really bring people together when they’re there.

In addition to new and returning shoppers, the Kenbridge Farmers Markets is also always looking to add new vendors when possible. Customers or vendors with questions can reach the Farmers Market at the Town Hall number 434-676-2452.

“I am hoping that the market will only grow stronger and better,” Daniel shared. “I also know that if you love what you do, you do not consider it work, and I love what I do.”
