FREE LOCAL MUSIC — The Rosewood, located at 11426 Courthouse Road in Lunenburg, will host classical musician Ashby Pennell on Friday, Aug. 1, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

FARMERS MARKET — The Kenbridge Farmers Market will be open on Saturday, Aug. 2. That’ll take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The market is held on East Fifth Avenue, just across from the Kenbridge Recreation Center.
ANNIE PERFORMANCE — SACT, the Southside Area Community Theatre, will hold a performance of the musical Annie on Saturday, Aug. 2. The play begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are $20 at the door and online at www.sacttheater.com.

SUNDAY WORSHIP — Victoria Baptist Church, located at 1423 8th Street in Victoria, will hold Sunday worship services on Sunday, Aug. 3. Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Pastor Tom will deliver the message.
HOMECOMING — Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kenbridge will celebrate homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 3, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Rebecca Griffin.

HOMECOMING — Bluestone Baptist Church, located at 8708 Trottinridge Road, will have its annual homecoming service on Sunday, Aug. 3. The service begins at noon with Pastor Lawrence Wilkerson delivering the message, with the Spiritual Disciples providing the music.

REVIVAL — Bethany Baptist Church, located at 5968 Plank Road in Kenbridge, will hold revival Aug. 5 and Aug. 6. Prayer and Praise service starts at 7 p.m., with worship at 7:15 p.m. Rev. Grayling R. Curtis will preach on Aug. 5 and Rev. Waverly Brown will deliver the message on Aug. 6.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT — Lunenburg County’s National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5 this year, running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Kenbridge Town Park. This will feature free hotdogs, chips and drinks. Tin Can Coffee will also be on hand, along with JuneBee’s Ice Cream and Snowie’s. Free school supplies will be given out, with a face painting station, a bounce house and a dunking booth.

HOMECOMING — Union R.Z.U.A. Church will hold homecoming and Family & Friends Day on Sunday, Aug. 10, beginning at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Tyrone Craighead, Pastor of First Baptist and Shiloh Baptist Churches. The theme will be “Celebrating the Journey, Embracing the Future” from Hebrews 13:8. Service will be in-person and by telephone. REVIVAL — Revival services will be held from Monday, Aug. 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 13. The Prayer and Praise Service will begin at 7 p.m., with worship following at 7:30 p.m. On Monday, Rev. Carnell Bagley of St. Taylor RZUA Church and Minister Steve Thomas will deliver the message. On Tuesday, Elder Willie Tisdale and Minister Steve Thomas will preach, with Rev. Marc Finney of Solomon Temple RZUA Church and Minister Steve Thomas on Wednesday.
