Chargers win third in a row

Central High School’s varsity football team took a close game Friday night in the first half and made it a blowout in the second half to clinch its third win in a row, improving to 3-4 on the season.
With less than a minute to go in the first half Friday, the Chargers scored to go up 20-15 and then pulled away for a 55-29 victory over host Randolph-Henry High School.
Having a big night for Central was junior running back Dontae Crowder, who carried the ball 16 times for 148 yards, five touchdowns and one two-point conversion.
Sophomore running back T’zion Wilkerson also had a strong night, with 13 carries for 97 yards and a score.
The Chargers had some major contributors on defense. Sophomore defensive end Khalil Wood recorded 20 total tackles, including two solo and one tackle for loss. Senior defensive lineman Jackson Parsons had 14 total tackles, including one solo and two for loss, and he also forced a fumble. Junior defensive end Gee Ragsdale registered 14 total tackles, four for loss.
The Chargers (3-4) visit Prince Edward County High School (4-2) on Friday at 7 p.m.
